The story behind Kanawata
It was in the 1970s that the passion for hunting, fishing, mountain biking and snowmobiling began at our outfitter in the Mauricie region. Formerly the property of the Canadian International Paper Company (CIP), it welcomed loggers and log drivers who certainly experienced great adventures in our forests!
50 years later...
Through different owners, the territory of Kanawata has developed for more than 50 years to become a popular vacation spot for several generations. The original buildings were first renovated, before the site was completely rebuilt to give it its current appearance, including an inn and twelve fully equipped chalets, a restaurant and even a 1.2 km long airstrip.
